Introduction
Jeanne Miranda, PhD, Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute begins her presentation by providing case examples of the application of the four evidence-based forms of psychotherapy: cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, and problem solving therapy and how these therapies work. Dr. Miranda goes on to cover approaches to referral and examines the outcomes of evidence-based therapies in minority patient populations.
Intended Audience
This continuing medical education program is intended for primary care physicians and other healthcare professionals who manage patients with depressive disorders.
