Type 2 Diabetes
The prevalence of type 2 diabetes has increased dramatically in recent years, and is projected to nearly double in coming decades. The importance of blood glucose control in preventing microvascular complications, such as retinopathy and nephropathy, is well established. However, according to the most current patient data, approximately one-third of patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes are not receiving pharmacotherapy to achieve recommended glycemic control.
