Introduction

Lois Jovanovic, MD, CEO & Chief Scientific Officer,Sansum Diabetes Research Institute, discusses the management of type 2 diabetes during pregnancy. The risk of type 2 diabetes for pregnancy-related complications are reviewed and diagnosis and management recommendations are provided. Pre-pregnancy management of women with pre-existing diabetes is discussed.

Intended Audience

This continuing medical education program is intended for primary care physicians and other healthcare professionals who manage patients with type 2 diabetes.

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be better able to:

  2. Describe the risk for pregnancy-related complications
